THC-A

THC-A, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that is a naturally occurring compound found in raw, unheated cannabis plants. Unlike THC, which is formed through the decarboxylation of THC-A (a process that occurs when cannabis is heated), THC-A itself does not produce psychoactive effects when consumed in its raw form.

THC-A is a precursor to THC.

THC-A Frequently Asked Questions

How is THC-A Legal?

THC-A flower is not considered marijuana on the federal level, as defined by the 2018 Farm Bill since it contains less than 0.3% (by weight) of delta-9. This means that THC-A does not fall under the scope of existing legislation which makes marijuana illegal.

Will THC-A Get Me High?

THC-A in its raw form will not get you high but as soon as THC-A is heated it instantly converts to THC and that of course will get high as a kite.
Here is the science behind it. (Try not to overthink it.)

The carboxylic group in THC-A prevents it from binding to the CB1 receptor, restricting euphoric activity. However, when the compound is heated, it undergoes decarboxylation. This process causes THC-A to lose its additional carboxylic acid group, turning it into THC. When this happens, THC interacts freely with the CB1 receptor.

Are Nap Pack's THC-A Products Tested?

All of the THC-A products sold by Nap Pack have up-to-date Certificate of Analysis (COA) on file for public viewing.

A COA is a verified document that provides specific details about cannabis products such as potency, cannabinoids, and terpenes. COAs also list the test results for heavy metals, pesticides, molds and bacteria.
